Since it was Saturday, there was no intensive class. It felt so great to not have to wake up at 7am. I could sleep as late as a I wanted.
The only thing planned was a tour of Montmartre, which is the highest point of Paris. It used to be a separate village but was annexed by the city in the 1800s. It still has that "village" feel to it and it's really cute! I would love to live there, but I can tell that it would be expensive haha.
I got to see Le Sacré-Coeur, which was beautiful. I really wanted to take pictures of the inside but photos aren't allowed since people use it as a place of worship still and it would disturb them.
I also got some really beautiful photos of the Eiffel Tower from afar. Because Montmartre is on a hill, you can most of the city from it. So it was an amazing view.
After the tour ended in the evening, we were free spend the rest of our Saturday however we wanted. Some of the other API students wanted to go see Le Moulin Rouge so they went off together. I wanted to go but Nathan and I had told our host mom that we would be home after the tour to eat dinner with her, so we headed back home instead. The meal was a really good! It was potatoes, cheese, cauliflower and some onions baked together and a side salad.
Later in the night, some of the group wanted to go out to a bar and get margaritas but I decided that I wasn't going to go because I didn't want to spend more money on alcohol right now. So instead I just stayed inside and was lame hahaha.
Here are some pictures of Montmartre:
